Identification. PubChem lists the compound under CID 16130571, CAS 62304-98-7. The sequence is Ac-SDAAVDTSSEITTKDLKEKKEVVEEAEN.
Background. Thymosin alpha 1 was first isolated from calf thymus tissue in 1977. It corresponds to the first 28 amino acids of the larger protein prothymosin alpha. An NMR study in a water and trifluoroethanol mixture found an alpha-helix between residues 14 and 26 (Elizondo-Riojas et al., Biochem Biophys Res Commun, 2011).
