KPV is a synthetic tripeptide with the sequence Lys-Pro-Val. It corresponds to residues 11 to 13 at the C-terminus of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It is supplied as a lyophilized powder, 10 mg per vial.
Identification. PubChem lists the compound as MSH (11-13) (CID 125672), CAS 67727-97-3. Other listed names are Lys-Pro-Val, L-lysyl-L-prolyl-L-valine and alpha-MSH (11-13). The molecular formula is C16H30N4O4 with a molecular weight of 342.43 g/mol.
